Bibs O' Love

Aren't theses bibs the best!
For: Baby Liza
Pattern: Bibs O' Love
Source: Mason and Dixon Knitting
Yarn: Sugar and Cream 100% Cotton
Patches: Fishcakes

These cotton bibs knit up in one night and the patches are the gift that keeps on giving. S is modeling the grumpy bib -- though he has given up bibs long ago in favor of the "paper towel shield" he now sports while eating spaghetti . . . .

Mom sewed on the patches using interfacing and snipped it away on the back side to preserve the integrtiy of the knit. I hope the new mom and dad enjoy!

First Big Girl Knitted Sweater

Knitters Beware! After six months as a newby knitting up one and two skein wonders, I am finally making the leap to a grown-up sized garment: The Hexacomb Cardigan from Interweave Knits Spring 2008. Okay, so I already own this almostly-exactly-the-same sweater from Anthropologie (which sister said "don't you have an almost-exactly-the-same sweater in your closet? huh.") . To which I said, "yup - isn't it great - now I am going to knit it!"

Never having knit anything where gauge was of any real consequence, I knitted up the swatch last night. Perfect! So now if it comes out all lumpy bumpy it will not be the fault of gauge. Really like the 0-wool (50 wool / 50 cotton).
